A frame tent is usually free standing, and can be located on any surface including; asphalt, a deck, concrete or grass as well. Since a frame tent does not have any poles inside of the tent, one does not have to worry about trying to work around the poles in the tent.

One drawback in regard to the frame tent is that it is usually a bit more pricey to rent than a pole tent, due to the labor involved in setting up the tent, as well as the cost of actually purchasing the tent.
